Reneé Rapp Performs Dreamy Cover Of “Linger” by The Cranberries

News

It seems like Reneé Rapp can perform just about anything. From singing on Broadway and in a feature film as Regina George in Mean Girls, to covering some of the best songs from artists including Beyoncé and Alicia Keys, her musical talent seems unending.

That musician proved that to be the case on Saturday as she performed a dreamy version of “Linger” by The Cranberries. Rapp is in the midst of her Snow Hard Feelings Tour and made her scheduled stop at The Roundhouse in London, England on March 2. During her show, Rapp welcomed her opener Towa Bird on stage to help perform the 1993 classic song — which has had a resurgence in popularity over the last few years.

Rapp sang the tune effortlessly, once again displaying her impeccable vocal talent. The crowd sang along, as Towa Bird played the acoustic guitar and Rapp sat on a stool for an emotional and stripped-down version of the song. Bird posted a snippet from the performance, while fan footage shows the entire song.

Reneé Rapp has chosen to cover many popular songs throughout her tour, including “Daddy Lessons” by Beyoncé during her Paris show. The performance came right after Queen Bey announced her forthcoming country album and released two singles. She must have seen footage from Rapp’s performance (Blue, did you show her???) because Beyoncé sent the singer flowers. Rapp had the most appropriate reaction to the flowers and posted a video from the moment of her whispering “not Beyoncé.”

While Rapp recently came off of the press tour for Mean Girls, showing just how hilarious and down-to-earth she really is, she has recently pivoted her career to focus on music more than acting. Her Snow Hard Feelings Tour began in September 2023 and will continue into the summer of 2024, including a stop at Coachella.
